About the Role

· Supervise group play environments, and determine appropriate and safe play groups and interactions between dogs
· Read/interpret canine body language and behavior
· Physically, mentally, and emotionally capable and comfortable working with a variety of dog and cat breeds, sizes/weights, ages, temper· The ability and confidence to work in a fast paced, labor intensive, and potentially emotional & stressful environment

· Show patience and respect to both pet parents and their pets
· Flexible Schedule- services are offered throughout the day, nights, weekdays, weekends, AND holidays
· Upkeep and sanitize the kennel, play areas, cat condos, laundry, dishes, etc.
· Enter charges and prepping for boarding & daycare pets
· Understand our boarding & daycare requirements
· Checking in/out daycare and boarding pets
· Relay information about the department to clients
· Understand personalities, needs, and preferences of each pet
· Communicate effectively with owners and their coworkers
· Performs duties and tasks effectively and efficiently throughout each shift
· Bathe daycare and boarding pets

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with animals in a professional setting (e.g., veterinary clinic, animal shelter, pet daycare)


  • Knowledge of animal handling techniques and behavior management


  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) such as bags of dog food or crates


  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with pet owners


  • Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with team members and pet owners


  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays





About the Company

Animal Care Center of Barrington, previously known as Barrington Animal Hospital, opened a state of the art facility to expand their services to the following in September of 2022: veterinary, dog & cat boarding, doggy daycare, grooming, and dog training. We are in search of part-time daycare / kennel attendants. ACCB is looking for someone who is excited and prepared to grow with our one-stop-shop!
